Captain Ebou Jallow Clears The Air, Calls Solo Malicious

Captain Ebou Jallow Clarifies, Calls Solo Saine’s Allegations Malicious

Dear Editor:

Seriously if you had not published this so called “Solo Saine” insults I would have never respond to it.  I was a Commissioned Officer in The Gambia National Army- basic recruit training, cadet course officer selection process with the British Army Training Team, Officer Candidate School with the then Naval Education and Training Centre, Newport Rhode Island, and finally promoted to the rank of Captain in The Gambia National Army and appointed Commander, 3rd Marine Company (Gambia Navy now) under Brigadier General Abubacar Dada of the Nigerian Army Training Team.  During the 1994 coup in The Gambia, I was already an Army Captain doing my staff course at the US Naval War College in Newport, RI where I graduated from in from December 1994.

I came to the US as a political asylee in 1995, enlisted into the United States Marine Corp, completed the most thorough basic military training at Parris Island, SC and the School of Infantry at Camp Geiger, Jacksonville NC, Four years active military service, and four years reserve with an honorable discharge from the United States Marine Corp, worked at the Pentagon (Strategy and Plans Division, USMC Headquarters), became a US citizen in 2003, joined the Army Reserves, attend OCS and several other army training programs.  There are several people who can vouch for this.  Let me be crystal clear, just as Ebrima Sankareh has already elucidated- I have never told anyone that I was either a US Army Captain nor a US Navy Captain.  I guess someone’s curiosity is getting the best part of him or her.  I am usually referred to as a “Captain” within the Gambian community because everybody knows me of that rank during my several years of honorable service in The Gambia Army.  I have served both my country of birth The Gambia, and my country of choice the United States of America and I am very proud of my record in both.  The other ridiculous charges and malicious innuendoes are definitely not worth my comment and I shall ignore them.

Who is “Solo Saine” anyway?  I sure don’t know him, and I think it shall only be fair for him to explain to me how he had “access” to my personal US military records much more make a serious allegation of impersonation and a violation of the UCMJ.  He needs to get serious, get a life, and stop stooping so low.  I wake up every day worrying about the next bullet, the next bomb, and the man fighting next to me knowing that I left several love ones behind.  I sure don’t need such callous diatribes from someone who throws insults hiding behind a false name.

Ebou Jallow, Baghdad, Iraq.
