NOV. 11 1994- IT WAS A VERY DANGEROUS PLOT!!!

IT WAS SUICIDAL!!!

Gambians would you be surprised to know that the November 11 coup plotters gave their lives away, in that they committed suicide?

There is so much talk and difference of opinion among Gambians as to the exact truth about Nov 11 1994. Nobody seems to know the truth. Allah knows all the open and secret motives and activities of every man, and His Plan must ultimately prevail, however much appearance may be against it at any given time.

Why should we not in our speech for the truth, seek assistance not only from reason and reflection but also from the observation of true stories from those who actually witnessed the events being lied about. 

If people reject Truth and Friendly Advice after they have been admonished and warned [on the eve of Nov 11], the charge against them, of wilful rebellion, is proved. They cannot then plead either ignorance or inadvertence.

Has Satan power to force a man to adopt a particular cause of action? Though they (Nov 11 bandits) have apparently all the faculties of reason and perception, they have so deadened them that those faculties do not work, and they went headlong into Nov 11 battle. They are, as it were, made for Hell, because they committed suicide! Thank God, I had not myself perished with them by their terrible lies and flattery. He (Basiru Barrow) makes promises to us, and arouses in us false desires; and his promises are nothing but deception.

Against (all) truth and reason: Their [Basiru Barrow and followers] estimate of their strength was greater than was justified by facts and actions, but if they had all the military strength which they arrogated to themselves, yet how could they not have stand against the AFPRC on Nov 11 battle they themselves initiated so as to completely wipe out the AFPRC?

For anybody to think and or say that the AFPRC killed anybody on Nov 11 1994, that suggestion is mischievous and completely unfounded. Only rank prejudice and determined ill will against the AFPRC can prompt such a thought.

In addition to voluntarily offering of this explanation, I invite the attention of all lovers of Truth, to whatever side they might profess allegiance, to the principle that “a tree is known by its fruits.” The AFPRC are good and war-seasoned officers of State and deserve to be decorated for their gallantry.

I also desire to state that since I was a soldier and a member (insider) of the Nov 11, and an orderly to the late Basiru Barrow, all that I say is a first hand information that is ever before the eyes and minds of those who were equally present like myself. I must not lie because of relationship.

If the AFPRC did not stop the Nov 11 1994 bandits, all of them (AFPRC and families and close Bodyguards) would have been massacred by us. That was the main intention and a strong order given to us by Basiru Barrow. Allah is Witness.

The AFPRC merely took part in a battle forced on them-thus, they Self-defended themselves. And anybody in their position would do the same thing: to defend themselves from death. The Truth is the Truth.

The Nov 11 bandits set out from their homes to arrest and kill / execute all the AFPRC…only for their pockets, but when death was in sight, they flinched… “Cowards die many times before their actual time of death;” it’s a saying.

In this November 11 Battle, Basiru Barrow and others, the big leaders of the Nov 11, lost their lives. The November 11 Deads!!! Those who died died because they committed suicide!

Great scenes of valour and of loyalty [by the AFPRC] were witnessed. Their mainstay was their Faith in Allah and Truth.

     Disgrace, Destruction and Death!!!

It was suicide the Nov 11 bandits sought…

If the AFPRC had done nothing at the time, the AFPRC would have been massacred altogether with their families and close Bodyguards and the Gambia would have plunged and remained in the grip of vendetta / civil warfare.

The step, which the AFPRC took, was the only way to peace, security and happiness. There have been some long wars in history. Some have lasted for a hundred years, some for thirty years or so. Long wars have always resulted from lack of decisive action by either side. Decisive action, as I have said, can take only one or two forms---defeat and complete surrender or a negotiated peace. In this case, the Nov 11 were not only routed but defeated-they all have their hearts inside their boots!

The Nov 11 bandits were out not to fight for the State of The Gambia but for self-aggrandizement and worldly gains.

 

Eve of November 11-Visit By The AFPRC-Yundum Barracks!!!

 

There is a saying, “Prevention is better than cure,” but the AFPRC said, “Warning Before Wounding.” Basiru Barrow consulted the Nov 11 bandits and persuaded them that they should overthrow the AFPRC since they were “small boys” (as he addressed us in one secret meeting…) It behoves them, therefore, to make war upon the AFPRC, if only in order to become the government themselves.

The AFPRC got to know of this plot. The AFPRC visited the Yundum Barracks and tried to convince them/us that such a step would prove suicidal. Such a war would, therefore, cost them/us dear and would spell their (/us our) own disgrace, destruction and death.

Nov 11 bandits went ahead and attacked, and they met destruction-the destruction they themselves had assigned for the AFPRC. The Nigerian lady artiste, Evi Edna has sung, “…If you are digging a hole for some one else to fall in, make it shallow, because you may be the very one to fall in there…” And evidently, the Nov 11 fell in their dug out hole meant for the AFPRC. It was quite obviously the most dangerous and stupid thing ever undertaken in Gambian (Military) history.

The AFPRC (leadership) was wise enough to ensure that nobody took part in it (Nov 11 battle) without due knowledge and without his will and heart in it. Because they told the soldiers that it was going to be a battle of life and death but for the State of the Gambia!

The soldiers stood up and assured the AFPRC of their loyalty and zeal; and of their determination to fight the enemy- whoever they might be. The uncertainty under which the AFPRC met the enemy redounds to the credit of their Faith and their tremendous sincerity to fight for the State of the Gambia and Truth. [Shamefully, I’ll today and always admit that] We-the enemy hosts were certainly routed and we showed our backs. I came to believe what the AFPRC said at Yundum Barracks just when they visited, “Those who are prepared and determined to die do not easily die.”

The AFPRC!!!  They had committed no crimes and had harmed nobody.  (And killed nobody, either) The Nov 11 bandits were responsible for their own death!

Now you have the truth. For all Gambians in quest of truth, this is the truth.
