After 18 Months Incommunicado, Kanyi Kanyi Seen at RVTH

After 18 Months Incommunicado, Kanyiba Kanyi Spotted At RVTH

By Fabakary B. Ceesay, Foroyaa newspaper

Mr. Kanyiba Kanyi, an employee of the Christian Children’s Fund (CCF), who has been incommunicado since September 2006, was allegedly spotted at the Royal Victoria Teaching Hospital (RVTH), on Thursday, 14 March, under the escort of prison wardens from Mile Two Prisons. A family member told Foroyaa that a relative of theirs spotted Kanyiba at the Out Patient Unit, where he went for a medical check up. The family members stated that they were told that Kanyiba appeared to be very weak and was being assisted by his guards.

It could be recalled that three plain-clothes security officers, who whisked him away to an unknown location, arrested Kanyiba Kanyi, on 18 September 2006 at his home at Bonto Village, in Kombo East. Since then, his family has never set their eyes on him neither know his place of incarceration. He now clocks 1 year 6 months in detention.

Dr Fox says...

Extreme justice is an extreme injury: for we ought not to approve of those terrible laws that make the smallest offences capital, nor of that opinion of the Stoics that makes all crimes equal; as if there were no difference to be made between the killing (of) a man and the taking (of) his purse, between which, if we examine things impartially, there is no likeness nor proportion .~ Sir Thomas More in Utopia, Bk 1. (1516)
