Breaking News: President Jammeh Sacks 3 Ministers

By Ebrima G. Sankareh, Editor-In- Chief

Angella Colley   Ablie Sallah & Nenneh Macdouall(The 3 Sacked Ministers)

According to our most competent and most dependable State House operative, Kissy Kissy Mansa, Gambian President Yahya Jammeh has sacked three Cabinet Ministers. The trio are Abdoulie Sallah Minister of State for Higher Education, Neneh Macdouall Gaye Minister of State for Information & Technology and Ms. Angela Colley Minister of Tourism. Says Kissy, Dr. Omar Touray of the African Union replaces Crispin Grey-Johnson as Foreign Secretary. Mr. Grey-Johnson now moves to the Higher Education Ministry where he served before his elevation to the hot seat of Foreign Affairs. Ms. Nancy Njie a canteen vendor at The Gambia Ports Authority who can barely write her name is Gambia’s new Minister of Tourism. She is the younger sister to Uncle Saikou Njie of Atlanta. Ms. Fatim Mbenga Badjie daughter to Dembo Badjie Gambia’s Ambassador to Sierra Leone replaces Mrs. Neneh Macdouall Gaye. Neneh Gaye is probably, the most powerful and vocal Minister since the July coup that propelled Jammeh a hitherto insignificant political quantity to notoriety.

According to Kissy, Susan Waffa Ogoo erstwhile Minister of Tourism is The Gambia’s new Ambassador to India, Neneh Macdouall Gaye is Gambian Ambassador to the United Nations in New York and Angella Colley is Gambia’s new High Commissioner to Nigeria. The sacked Minister of Higher Education Mr. Abdoulie Sallah is Gambia’s Secretary to the Cabinet, a position he held in the pre-coup years under the PPP regime of Sir Dawda Jawara. Ms. Teneng Jaiteh is the new Secretary General office of the President.

In another twist, says Kissy President Jammeh has sacked the entire senior management of the Gambia Tourism Authority headed by Mr. Kaliba Senghore currently holidaying in England.

Editor’s note: As we went to press, rumour continues to brew around State House that Yankuba Touray may as well go but according to Kissy that is only rumour and until proven otherwise, we will leave it at that.
