BREAKING NEWS:CPT. LAMIN JARJUE MURDERED IN COLD BLOOD

    CAPTAIN JARJUE MURDERED

By Ebrima G. Sankareh Editor in- Chief

Unimpeachable sources from State House reveal the brutal stabbing to death of Captain Lamin Jarjue, Thursday 28 December, 2006. Captain Jarjue 34, a student at the National Aviation Unstitute in Kiev, Ukraine hails from Brikama in The Gambia's Western Division. He was a memebr of the defunct Gambia National Gendermerie and later the Tactical Support Group in the PPP regime. He was trained in Turkey where he graduated with honors.

Says our Yundum Barracks correspondent OX, Cpt. Lamin Jarjue was so brilliant that all soldiers respected him. He had a photograraphic memory and when he had the scholarship to study in the former Soviet Republic of Ukraine, we were all excited. This is therefore, a sad day for all soldiers of The Gambia National Army.

According to OX, President Jammeh is trying to hide the death of Cpt. Jarjue so that his relation with the Republic of Ukraine will not be affected. Until now, the death has not been made public. Instead, President Jammeh is going about his normal business as if not even a dog has been killed.

Laments OX, racism is a big problem confronting the former Republics. Gambian students in Russia are equally jittery following the brutal stabbing to death of Captain Jarjue on Thursday. "I am trying to relocate my boy to the States or UK before he too will be murdered by racists on a rampage" says a brother to one of the students at the school. "My brother, Yahya Jammeh is so irresponsible that to date, his government has neither announced the death nor reacted." "Is this what you call a responsible government; that even those who die defending him can be killed with impunity?" he asked rhetorically.

Predictably, President Jammeh has no choice but to remain mute because Ukraine is one of those states that continue to help his doomed regime. Not even a press release has been issued. Some of the soldiers at Yundum were shocked when I called them this morning at 9:00am to enquire.
