Veteran Gambian journalist Demba A. Jawo has confirmed to The Gambia Echo   Abdou Karim Savage has been sacked this evening as Chief Justice. Akomayo Agim, who was president of the Court of Appeals, has replaced him.” We are keenly following developments and we will come out with a detailed report, explaining why Yankuba Touray was sacked.

Also, top Foreign Ministry officials say that Gambia’s Deputy Chief of Mission in Washington, DC, Mr. Musa M’boob has been called for consultation and is expected to report to foreign affairs Tuesday morning. Says a highly placed source, Mr. M’boob may end up being assigned to a new post in the Civil Service, probably as Inspector General of Police. Asked what the current holder of that post would do, our source said, the situation is so complicated that you never know what the Big Man does the next minute.
