Obituary: Alhaji Edrissa Manjang of Yundum passes away
It is with the most profound sadness that we share the passing away of our father, grandfather, great-grand father, uncle, great uncle, great-grand uncle; Alhaji Edrissa Manjang who passed away early this morning (13th February 2010) at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Banjul, The Gambia.
Alhaji Edrisssa, “Baba” or "Pa Manjang" as he was commonly known was a giant of a man both in virtuousness and the philosophy of hard work, truthfulness and dedication to one’s family in life.
He is survived by a large close and extended family, members of who are spread all around the world: Senegambia, Guinea Bissau, UK, USA, Scandinavia and beyond.
May his soul rest in perfect peace.
Editor’s Note: The Gambia Echo pays tribute to the revered old man for his many sacrifices for The Gambia and return thanks to God for blessing him with so many wonderful children among them, our good friend in Atlanta, Ousman Manjang. Ousman, you now have a big job to keep the flay flying. May Pa Manjang’s gentle soul rest in eternal peace-amen!
