M. L. Jaseha Kujabie, Haruna Jammeh and Ms. Mason Jammeh allegedly killed by Jammeh Gov’t.

Ever since their high profile arrest and detention almost five years ago, there has been a combustible combination of rumours and innuendoes as to their exact whereabouts and what crimes, Jaseha Kujabie and Haruna Jammeh; once powerful presidential operatives, may have committed to warrant their incommunicado detention. That was then and this is now and today, The Gambia Echo reveals that the duo that once wielded enormous political gravitas, have been brutally murdered and their story is a chilling reminder of the utterly criminal character of the Yahya Jammeh regime. A highly placed source close to the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) has revealed to The Gambia Echo that Messrs. Modou Lamin Jaseha Kujabie of Dobong village and Haruna Jammeh of Kanilai village, were brutally tortured and then executed by the autocratic regime of President Yahya Jammeh. Only a few months later, Haruna Jammeh’s sister, Ms. Mason Jammeh, once custodian of the Kanilai presidential palace, was also allegedly abducted from Kanilai and then savagely killed by agents of the Jammeh regime.
Afang Ibilis viciously looks on
According to our unimpeachable and highly placed source, both Modou Lamin Jaseha Kujabie (affectionately called Jaseha) and Haruna Jammeh; a cousin to the Gambian President, were arrested by Ousman Tamba, then Station officer of the Bundung Police Station on July 14th, 2005 and then whisked to the most predacious NIA. Once at the NIA, they were placed under the notorious agency’s erstwhile Director General, Daba Marenah, who was himself, later executed in the wake of the aborted March, 2006 coup. According to NIA sources, for about a week, both Kujabie and Jammeh were held at the NIA’s Marina Parade headquarters and while in detention, some family members visited them and even brought them food.
However, at the end of the week, a dark pickup truck with tinted glasses and no licence plate from the State House some 400 meters from the NIA offices drove in with a masked man behind its wheel accompanied by a number of masked military men who collected the duo. Reveals our competent source, “they picked Haruna and Jaseha at about 2AM; barely a week after their arrest and consistent with several atrocities committed by Jammeh, these gentlemen were subjected to harrowing torture before they too, were executed and their remains buried in the woods.” Asked what crimes the duo may have committed, our source said, both men were very close to the President before and in fact, Haruna was his cousin and once General Manager of the President’s Kanilai farms until news reached Jammeh that these men were consulting some powerful marabouts. True to his paranoid disposition, he ordered that the men be arrested lest they topple his regime for merely consulting marabouts, men who only weeks before had been criss-crossing the entire sub-region running his endless errands.
Asked what may have led to Mason Jammeh’s death, our source revealed that, Ms. Jammeh and Haruna were of the same mother and that both were cousins to President Jammeh. That after the reported execution of Haruna and Jaseha, Mason was reportedly angry and emotional and made very damning comments that really angered President Jammeh and so he allegedly ordered that she too face the same consequences.
According to our most competent sources, in order to deceive Kujabie’s family, President Jammeh instructed Daba Marenah to send an NIA operative and pretend as if he were looking for the dead man, alleging that Jesaja had jumped bail. An NIA officer identified only as Bojang was immediately dispatched to Dobong village. Once in the village, Bojang went to Jesaga’s house and threatened the family that he was there to arrest the dead man because he had violated his bail conditions for failing to appear in court. Kujabie’s family was flabbergasted to learn that a man who was arrested and detained at the NIA was now reportedly at large. As if by divine intervention, the same Daba Marenah who was at the centre of the mischief was himself arrested and then executed and by a cruel twist of concomitant irony, he too, is reportedly missing by the same Yahya Jammeh.
Yet still, according to our NIA sources, as if his taste for blood is insatiable, Yahya Jammeh ordered the arrest and murder of Jasaja Kujabie’s eldest son, Baboucarr Kujabie who was an NIA operative at the President’s office but no sooner had he been alerted than the young fellow fled to Senegal where he now lives in self-imposed exile. Jasaja was married to four wives and leaves behind 15children, sources say.
As we went to press, family members of Messrs: Ndongo M’boob and Modou Lamin Nyassi are jittery if they too, are alive. Both strong supporters of President Jammeh’s APRC party, M’boob and Nyassi were arrested since April 2006, and to date, their fate is subject to conjecture. However, in a country where summary executions of political enemies real or imagined are common, it is more probable than otherwise that they too, have been liquidated.
