SARJA & HARUNA- DEAD?

President Jammeh knows!!

Unimpeachable reports from State House allege that Sarja Kujabi, (a.k.a.Jasaka), of Dobong village in the Western Division and President Jammeh’s cousin-brother Haruna Jammeh, may have been executed by state security agents and their bodies buried at a remote location in the thick bushes of Foni when the NIA was under Daba Marenah.
The duo were arrested three years ago along side, James Kujabi ex- Presidential Chief Protocol, Abdoulie Kujabi ex- Director General of the notorious National Intelligence Agency and Ansumana Kujabi a presidential confident-cum wheeler-dealer. All five were detained at various locations in the country and very little if anything was known about their detention. However, when the dust settled, James, Abdoulie and Ansumana (same parents) were released but their fourth brother, Sarja Kujabi was not. So was President Jammeh’s cousin- brother Haruna Jammeh.
According to a top source at the President’s office, once arrested, the two were kept in incommunicado and since then, no one can tell you he has either spoken to them or seen them. Says the source “although Haruna was close to the President, he was always at odds with his confrontational behavior. Many were the times when he objected to President Jammeh’s utterly nonchalant behavior”.
Says the source, they were arrested for state security reasons after President Jammeh was told that the Kujabi family and his brother had invited a spiritual man from Guinea to their Serekunda home for occult consultancy. Reveals the source, “prior to this though, the same person believed to possess supernatural powers had visited the Kujabis only to do business with President Jammeh whose entire life; is glued to supernatural means and oracle consultation.” According to this source, President Jammeh was so nervous when he knew of the occult practitioner’s secret visit to his high profile staff and National Intelligence chief, that he conjectured that a coup plot was imminent He sacked them immediately and ordered for their arrest in the most humiliating fashion ever. Prior to their fall from grace, the Kujabi family was untouchable in the eyes of most ordinary Gambians.
James Kujabi graduated from St. Edward’s Secondary Technical School (10th.Grade) and trained as a Nurse’s Aide (not RN). He was in the Bronx, New York prior to the coup that propelled Jammeh to the presidency. He hurriedly returned home convinced that since the President was a relative and more importantly, tribalist, he could rise easily through the ranks with little regard to education. He was right. Within the stroke of a pen, James had a meteoric rise to the coveted position of President’s Chief Protocol. So were the rest. Abdoulie was dished out the NIA and Ansumana a professional carpenter, became The Gambia’s Carl Rowe. Sarja who until the coup was a chauffer to Bwiam Imam Alhaji Ali Ceesay blended and was tasked with occult consultancy and numerous subterraneous errands. Within a month, Sarja had a fleet of cars, a motorbike and expanded his household to four wives and over 15 children.
Today, his 4 wives and numerous children are not sure what to make of his long detention incommunicado. James who managed to escape back to the Bronx after he was set free from gaol is now reflecting over the numerous bad things he witnessed and commissioned while within the corridors of power. Like the rest, he too is a potential witness in any future criminal prosecution of this monstrous regime.
Abdoulie Kujabi who as NIA Director General presided over the most callous agency that was at the center of numerous state orchestrated killings has since been re-arrested in the wake of the March 2006 abortive coup. Today, Abdoulie is wheelchair bound following an exhaustive regime of torture by his former subordinates that he once instructed to also, torture past detainees and suspects.
As we went to press, sources close to the Kujabis say that the family is contemplating a funeral rite in absentia for Sarja Kujabi but they are scared lest they offend the state. As for President Jammeh’s brother Haruna Jammeh, it remains to be seen how the family will settle its own nightmare.
