Unassailable sources close to vice President Isatou Njie Saidy's office reveal that the Director General of The Gambia's National Intelligence Agency (NIA) Harry Sambou, has been fired with immediate effect.

         Sambou rose to the covetted rank of Director General following the arrest and later disappearance of Mr. Daba Marenah and a host of other senior security operatives some of whom are stil vegetating behind the granite walls of Mile II Central prisons. A man who brags a lot about his multi-lingual skills and seemingly unbeatable brilliance was doomed from the on set as most observers had noted that the NIA job was a politically hot potato for any weak soul to handle.
