Pictures Don't Lie Mr. President

By Ebrima G. Sankareh

As part of our one year anniversary, The Gambia Echo will share a very discrete photograph of President Yahya Jammeh and a married woman. We have received this photo from one of our most trusted sources, Kissy Kissy Mansa who until recently, was President Jammeh's closest confidant. The photo speaks volumes about numerous allegations that have been wildly brewing in Banjul for three years now.It was taken at a house party at Kanilai when the First Lady was abroad. We are conscious of the potential embarassment it may cause our dear sister and her family but our trade is such that public officials have to be accountable. When Lieutenant Yahya Jammeh came to power on july 22, 1994 he promised Gambians three noble ideals: Transparency, Accountability and Probity. Looked at from this angle, we have the damn right to publish this very revealing photo, taken two days before the woman's appointment. Stay tuned to the Echo for a special anniversary photo.

Dr Fox says...

Extreme justice is an extreme injury: for we ought not to approve of those terrible laws that make the smallest offences capital, nor of that opinion of the Stoics that makes all crimes equal; as if there were no difference to be made between the killing (of) a man and the taking (of) his purse, between which, if we examine things impartially, there is no likeness nor proportion .~ Sir Thomas More in Utopia, Bk 1. (1516)
