All rights reserved, including the right to reproduce this article or any other article or image, or portions thereof, in any form or context without the expressed permission of The Gambia Echo Newspaper.

Dear Readers: The photo above is that of the battered body of Wassa Janneh of Brikama in the hands of the Gambia's notorious National Intelligence Agency. In the coming days, my colleague Mathew K. Jallow and I will come out with our exclusive interview with Mr. Janneh who has since fled to the United States with his family. Among the tortured is a lady who later died of internal bleeding. Janneh identified Lieutenant Kawsu Camara (Bombarde) as his chief assailant. Please bear with us as we piece these gruesome details together. Our profound apologies for the delay. We will come out with more revealing images of torture.

Always, Ebrima G. Sankareh.

Dr Fox says...

Extreme justice is an extreme injury: for we ought not to approve of those terrible laws that make the smallest offences capital, nor of that opinion of the Stoics that makes all crimes equal; as if there were no difference to be made between the killing (of) a man and the taking (of) his purse, between which, if we examine things impartially, there is no likeness nor proportion .~ Sir Thomas More in Utopia, Bk 1. (1516)
