Unimpeachable sources from Kanilai reveal a welcome development, the confrontation of President Yahya Jammeh by a senior no-nonsense police officer at the dictator’s slave farms at his native Kanilai. According to eyewitnesses, the tussle between President Yahya Jammeh and the senior police officer (name not disclosed) at Kanilai was unprecedented among the ranks and file of the security forces in The Gambia where people have been systematically cowed to believe that Yahya Jammeh has supernatural powers to presumably, fly if he wishes. Below is the full dispatch: “It was the turn of the police to show up at Jammeh's farm at Kanilai to contribute their energy to the betterment of the self imposed King (Jammeh). At the end of the work (weeding, clearing etc) Jammeh came to thank the police for the good job. Before he would say anything, one Senior Police Officer walked majestically towards Jammeh. Nobody stopped him because he is part of the protégés who can freely go near Jammeh without hindrance. When he got to Jammeh (face to face) he threw biting words freely on him like a responsible person addressing a lunatic. He called Jammeh a greedy man who came to power to enrich himself while he is deceiving people with nice words. The officer told him that he promised Gambians so many things but he never fulfills them. Yahya Jammeh, you are a liar, a great liar that Gambia ever had he repeatedly told a bewildered Jammeh. At no point in time did any security officer interrupt the ranting of this senior officer. All those present there were taken by surprise. It was only when the Police Officer was satisfied that the security came to their senses and reacted by arresting the officer. It is true that the Police Officer assaulted a Head of State (Jammeh) but he has spoken the truth. What will be the end of him and other security men present at that moment remains to be seen. However, the police officer has achieved his desired goal of telling Jammeh the truth.”
Editor’s Note: The above scene speaks volumes about the Gambian situation. Significantly, it is ominous and more than anything else, signals the beginning of an end to Yahya Jammeh’s decade long tyranny against our people.
