For the past two weeks, our mailbag has been saturated with questions regarding President Yahya Jammeh's alleged sexual liaisons with famed Senegalese musician Vivian Ndoure. Some readers had gone as far as suggesting that Yahya Jammeh had sent in dowry proposing to marry VIVI as she is affectionately called by her fans. We have contacted our most credible sources in Dakar as to the veracity of this supposedly high-profile romance and from them, it would appear that Yahya Jammeh's relation with the singer-divorce’ is more probable than otherwise. “Throughout Dakar, the news here is that Yahya Jammeh is dating Vivian and may end up sending cola nuts to wed a second wife” our sources say. Our lead investigator close to the corridors of power, Njie Khakatarr had revealed to this paper that before the Vivian rumour began brewing, there were two light-skinned Senegalese ladies that Jammeh dated. Says Khakatarr, "HE-His Excellency likes light-skinned women and he would do everything to maintain a harem of light-skinned women especially, if they were as famous as the Senegalese madam.” According to Njie, just recently, Jammeh had two Senegalese ladies in two lush apartments in the Fajara area for at least three weeks; and during this time, both girls were provided with Lexus cars at Jammeh’s expense.” Asked whether the two ladies knew each other or if they just happened to be there at the same time, Njie Khakatarr said, “both of them were his girl friends; they were more interested in the dollars than the man himself” argued Khakatarr. “For now though I can report that while they may be talking, Yahya Jammeh has not yet married Vivian; that I would have known” said a confident Khakatarr.
However, according to our most reliable correspondent, the Yundum Barracks whistleblower, OX, President Jammeh had long wanted Vivian. In fact recalls OX, HE first wanted Fatou Jewel Joof way back in 1996 but the lady after being approached by Yankuba Touray a phenomenal pimp, flatly declined any love relation with Jammeh. I challenge Yankuba Touray to deny this and I will shatter the Pandora box threatens a high-spirited OX. “I have been married to my husband for all these years and I have never contemplated cheating on him” was exactly what Fatou Jewel told Yanks at Lancaster place. That Jammeh is dating VIVI is not surprising to me because I have known Jammeh for a very long time now says OX. There is a girl in the Washington Dc area from Sukuta that he has also promised to marry but the girl is very critical of the relationship. Her mother is persistent that she must marry HE. The girl had in fact, consulted a famous Marabout from Bansang to assist in this. The Marabout had advised her to concentrate on her books and forget worldly affairs but her mom was bitter about the admonition.
There was also the case of Mrs.…. from Sukuta-Sabeji whose husband was a high-profile supporter of Jammeh while the wife spent several nights at State House. Jammeh once told us that sometimes he enjoys such escapades because ordinarily, some of these men would have not supported him; that there were strings attached and this is why he treats them like fools. Reveals OX, the worse woman I encountered was Jennet Muna Lai who was a married senior civil servant dating Yahya. During state festivals Jennet would be seen hugging her husband, kissing and twisting her butt only to sneak during the night and be with HE. At one point her marriage was in shambles because the husband was tipped by an apparently disgruntled cook.” According to OX, the day Yahya fired Muna Lai the Presidential bodyguards jubilated. The following Monday after Muna Lai’s sacking, HE told us that Muna had lied to him that she spoke better French than…. but during a recent visit, Muna appeared totally stupid among the intellectuals that gathered. After the Ataya session, he returned to the palace and all the soldiers laughed and asked whether Muna Lai really lied or was Kebba no longer interested? Some weeks later we saw her at State House and after she left, Jammeh asked us if we thought Muna could handle international appointments. One soldier suggested that she goes to the University to teach French to which HE responded, “Do you think is easy to teach?"
Editor's Note: In the coming days we will try to interview Vivian N'dour to shed more light on the allegations.
