NEWS FLASH: Tamba Fofana Released, Returns To Kudang

Following the release of Ousman Rambo Jatta, The Gambia Echo’s reporters have been investigating the whereabouts of the remaining political detainees. We can only confirm the release of one person; Head Master Mr. Tamba Fofana who like Rambo was also detained at various police location across the country. He however, ended up at Mile II Prisons from where he was treated for a severe sore on the leg. Why was Fofana arrested for one year? He allegedly allowed Lawyer Ousainu Darbo’s United Democratic Party to have a presidential rally at the Kudang Junior secondary school football field and also allowed the UDP to use school furniture. When has that become a criminal offence? You ponder! Our reporters will try to speak to Fofana who has since returned to his native village to reunite with family.

We have asked all those who would have been privy to information relating to Kanyiba Kanyi but no one could definitively say that he has been released. All they tell us is: “We hope he is.”
