President Jammeh’s Chief Executioner Found Dead In House
By Ebrima G. Sankareh, Editor-in-Chief
Seemingly CREDIBLE reports reaching The Gambia Echo say Major Musa Jammeh; the most brutal executioner in the Jammeh government has died. Says a highly placed military source, “Musa Jammeh was found dead in his house early this morning after a very mysterious illness. For the past month, Musa has been seriously sick but would not go to the hospital” our source reveals. Until when we hear from our State House correspondent Kissy Kissy Mansa, or our Yundum barracks whistleblower Officer “X”, we will leave it at that.
It can be recalled that The Gambia Echo ran a story last week on the mysterious illness that the most lethal killer was battling with. Below we reproduce that report for the benefit of our readers until when we get the details of his reported death.

Musa Maliya Mungu Jammeh gravely ill
Unimpeachable sources close to The Gambia National Army (GNA) reveal that the regime’s most feared executioner Musa Jammeh; a man so lethal that President Jammeh nicknamed him for Idi Amin’s Chief killer Maliya Mungu is fighting for his life. According to senior military sources, Jammeh is now considerably emaciated and has no hope in life. Musa’s situation is miserable as most of the men are praying for his immediate death; no one really seems to give a damn about his fate our sources say. Numerous soldiers told The Gambia Echo that The Gambia is better off with a dead Musa Jammeh than with a wild executioner with no respect for human life. Musa Jammeh has tortured more Gambian and killed far more than most people; the only exception is Edward David Singhateh, the disgraced coupist now rendered useless.
According to our most competent sources, the theory among the ranks in the GNA is that President Yahya Jammeh is engaged in a systemic scheme of poisoning his closest aides to eventually kill all his lethal executioners so that on the day of reckoning, no credible witnesses will be available.” Most people here believe that Musa Jammeh is suffering from poisoning; he exhibits all the tendencies that notorious killer Momodou Tumbul Tamba did before his mysterious demise barely five months ago” said a senior military officer. Like Musa Jammeh, Momodou Tumbul Tamba had the dubious distinction of torturing and then executing closest friends the last being Alpha Bah his batch mate who disappeared with former NIA Director Daba Marena. Tamba, military sources say, was so callous that he would first laugh and then insult his victims with profanities, sometimes dislocated their joints, removed eyeballs before shooting them in the head. During the Siffoe liquidation of the West African immigrants, mostly Ghanaians, Tumbul Tamba and Bombarde` reportedly went on a killing spree. In the end, he suffered from a very mysterious illness that claimed his life. For now though, it remains to be seen what becomes of Musa Jammeh.
In a related development, our most competent sources say Major Demba Njie 1986, Gendarmerie intake; once Chief of Protocol/Staff at State House in the wake of the July coup, has been reinstated. According to our sources, Njie recently had a baby and Chief of Defense Staff Lang Tombong Tamba (not Tumbul the killer) his batch mate was among the guests. It was agreed during the christening ceremony that the 1986 Gendarmerie Batch of which Njie was senior recruit, should pay a courtesy call on Jammeh at the Kanilai Farm. Demba who was sacked/retired (whichever you choose) and unemployed for some years now wasted no time. At Kanilai, Brigadier General Tamba, Demba Njie and the rest of their batch mates labored at the President’s farm. Thereafter, they met Jammeh and during what our sources described as a “humorous encounter”, the group asked his Excellency to reconsider Demba Njie’s predicament. No sooner had they left Kanilai than word came from the President for Njie to be reinstated. He is now in charge of Bakau-Fajara Barracks. Major Demba Njie is a Sixth Form graduate of The Gambia High School and holds a French Degree from Sheikh Anta Diop University in Dakar, neighboring Senegal.
Lt. Lamin Fatty, once a bodyguard to Edward Singhateh during the hay days of the coup is now in charge of the newly created Darsilami Military Post. Born at Bakang in the Jokadu District, young Fatty and family relocated to Essau village where he attended the village Primary school. He proceeded to the Berending Secondary Technical School where he graduated from in 987. He then enlisted in The Gambia National Army where he was described as very disciplined and respectful private. However, in the wake of the July coup, he was assigned to Defense Minister (later Vice Chairman) Edward David Singhateh and like Singhateh, Fatty (a.k.a. Da) has so many allegations of extra-judicial executions to weather. Fatty is among the unpleasant characters chronicled in Lt. Col. Samsudeen Sarr’s book, Coup De’tat By The Gambia National Army. However, numerous people from Essau have told The Gambia Echo that Da is now so religious that he prays five times a day and is usually at the mosque even before the muezzin. It remains to be seen if prayer beads and prayer books can redeem Singhateh (who has since converted to Islam) and his lethal khaki boys! May God continue to bless The Gambia!
