Alieu Mboge–The KAKATARR (Deceptive) Crook

I could recall 3 years ago, reading an article on the Gambia-L about the Khakatarr tendency within the Gambians in the Diaspora. It does look as if recent events in The Gambia do show another form of Khakatarr tendency, which I will now discuss.

Is this Gambia's new Ambassador Alieu khakatarr Mboge?

Last week, I received news from my colleagues to say that Alieu Mboge, a one time Gambian Exile in the UK and ardent critic of the APRC has been appointed Gambia's Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates. My first instinct was to say that Jammeh is reaching out to the old guards from the 1ST Republic. However, after carefully analyzing the pros and cons of this appointment, I am reluctant to congratulate Alieu Mboge because I believe the man is just a seasoned opportunist.

No one should even be surprised  about his appointment. This is a man who benefited immensely from the PPP Government. This is also a man that has prospered by being a toad to people in power, from DK Jawara, Lady Chilel, MC Cham, Ousainou Njie, Captain Sallah (Ports Authority), Jabez Langley, and Malick Lowe.

Even though I don't agree with Matthew Jallow on a number of issues, which is healthy in any case, he is right when he said that Alieu Mboge literally gave one of the most important national assets NTC to Cherbel Elhajj for almost free. At the time when the PPP government decided to liquidate some of its parastals, Alieu in his typical desperate and opportunist move in trying to build up new contacts within the Business Community, advocated that  the National Trading Corporation (NTC) be sold to Cherbel Elhajand once the deal went true Mboge Immediately set up All's Trading – BIG THIEF!!!

As I write this piece, it has been brought to my attention that Alieu
is currently one of Amadou Samba's cohorts. In fact, his son Malick is currently branded within the Gambian Business Community as a Boy-Boy/ Crony of Amadou Samba. What does this go to show you??? Definitely, Alieu will certainly mortgage his family solely for power. Rather than allowing his son to explore the opportunities that may be available to him for being an ACCA holder, he has turned to be crony- Like Father, Like Son episode.

It is interesting that Jammeh continues to recycle PPP elements he so vehemently condemned in the past. The only losers are the Gambian masses as the Jammeh administration is nothing more than a criminal oligarchy hell bend on destroying our beautiful country.

I understand Alieu Mboge used to say a lot of things about the Jammeh administration whilst living in exile in the UK. One of his favourite remarks is to say that he would never drink "Pootit" for being thirsty. He has plotted with a number of individuals and left them dry. Alieu Mboge has forgotten that you can fool the people but not Allah. Knowing Jammeh, he would not last and like many other sbefore him the Dr. Sidat Jobe, Blaise Jagne, Omar Faye, Omar Ndow etc he will be dumped soon.

Finally, I now turn to another point, the opening of numerous
Embassies when The Gambia could ill afford it. Perhaps one could easily describe it as Jammeh's diplomatic prostitution. One must ask Jammeh whether The Gambia has adopted a new foreign policy. Moreover, one must ask Jammeh to explain the rationale behind appointing people just on the basis that they are from his tribe with no qualifications whatsoever.
