Who Killed The West Africans, Mostly Ghanaians?
By Ebrima G. Sankareh Editor-In-Chief
Ever since The Gambia Echo reported the extra-judicial execution of some 50 West African immigrants mostly Ghanaians, in July 2006 (a year after the massacre) both the Ghana government and international human rights bodies have been asking Gambian President Jammeh to explain but the stonewalling remains unabated. Recently, there have been renewed campaigns to pressure the Gambian dictator to investigate the mysterious yet eerily chilling circumstances in the farms of Siffoe where the immigrants were executed cold-blood by men now identified as Yahya Jammeh’s own lieutenants, a team of quasi-baked officers with a penchant for clownery and unfettered propensity to everything evil.

Our most competent and most credible State House whistleblower who first revealed the inextricable nexus between Jammeh’s terrorist regime that brags about burying its enemies-real or imaged, six feet deep, and the Siffoe carnage, have now gone a step further to name the culprits who allegedly committed the atrocities. Our State House operative maintains the desire to appear before any credible court of law and reveal in graphic details how Gambian soldiers under the command of Senior military officers executed innocent West African citizens following a hoax that there was a group of dissidents plotting to seize power.
Once the notorious NIAs sighted this unfortunate group of hustlers, they matched their profile and once in Gambian territory at the border village of Amdalaye, the ill-fated immigrants were reportedly arrested and whisked to Barra Point on the Gambia’s North Bank Region at brake-neck speed. Once at Barra, the Gambian Navy had anchored a boat where they were hurriedly transferred and packed like sardines for President Jammeh’s irredeemable rogues. It was at the Banjul Naval Headquarters reveals our source that hell broke loose. In the presence of then Chief of Defence Staff, Colonel Ndure Cham, current Army Chief Brigadier Lang Tombong Tamba, Gibril Ngorr Secka of the notorious NIA, IGP Major Ousman Sonko (now Interior Minister), the butcher boys (all in masks) began to tie the immigrants with ropes and cables. In the process, Lt. Kausu Camara (the genocidal Bombarde’) in his clownish shows of bravado inadvertently dropped his mask and from there says our source; nothing less that the macabre Siffoe scenery was to be expected. Bounded in cables and robes, a rude reminder of the turbulent voyages our ancestors endured under white slavers across the Atlantic, these men where taken to the Kanifing urban area and separated in batches. Some where briefly held at one of Hon. Baba Jobe’s numerous houses and the rest held in various locations within the same area before they where finally moved to President Jammeh’s Siffoe estate and liquidated in a fashion reminiscent of Pol Pot’s Cambodia.
Says our highly placed official; some of the immigrants had their legs tied to two pick up trucks and drivers drove in different directions to separate them like Tobaski rams. Some had chisels and galvanized nails nailed into their thighs and foreheads and the entire place was blood bath. Some had nails running through their chests while the vehicles where headed to the killing fields and some of the soldiers who had no clue what was going to happen began to cry. According to our source, one Sergeant was literally forced to kill or be executed immediately. Reveals our source, the same fellow was faced with a similar predicament when Ex-NIA Director Daba Marena and group where being executed. He refused to participate and was allegedly shot to death by Tumbul Tamba. According to our source, the killing in Siffoe was so nasty, that after the incident, a soldier returned to State House crying like a newly born baby. He could not believe that he had killed defenseless brothers and from that day, the said officer (named withheld for security reasons) vowed to quit.
According to our source, President Jammeh has a special compound at Kololi village nicknamed Little Kingston by the Hit Squad where all sort of hard drugs and liquor are supplied to the killers. The late Tumbul Tamba, Mustapha Sanneh and Sana Manjang alleges our source, would often sit at Little Kingston mimicking the last moments of the Ghanaian immigrants. Tumbul Tamba was so callous alleges our source, that he would be dancing and laughing as he reminisced over the brutal end of his defenseless victims. The President had given the late Captain Tumbul Tamba and his team latitude of freedom that any police officer that violates their privacy at Little Kingston, should be circumcised, a pejorative metaphor for dehumanization, our source said.
Reveals our source, once in Little Kingston, you have a feeling that you are in a foreign land for all you hear is gruesome tales of torture, of assassinations and how different victims respond to torture. The only other place that resonates little Kingston our source observes is an area in Kanilai designated Manjang Kunda, named for President Jammeh’s notorious soldier Sana Manjang (a.k.a. Malakal Mawty- angel of death). Like Little Kingston, Kanilai’s Manjang Kunda is a sovereign entity, entire and to itself. No sane person visits Manjang Kunda and returns the same. The stench and the brutalities that are discussed at the site can scare the hell out of every normal human being. Most major state secretes are first discussed and executed at Manjang Kunda even before the security authorities are notified reports our competent source.
“Mr. Sankareh, it has been a year since I told The Gambia Echo of President Jammeh’s fore knowledge of the entire episode and the statistical break down of the nationalities killed at Siffoe farms in July 2005. In the light of the slow pace of the investigations, and President Jammeh’s recent statement of denial I will today reveal to the whole world, the list of all the soldiers that to the best of my knowledge directly participated at the Siffoe farms massacre and I want no money, no fame, no political asylum but justice and a sense of closure to perhaps the grimmest chapter in West African immigration history. Below are the names:
1.Ex-IGP Major Ousman Sonko (Minister of Interior) from Cassamance based in Serekunda;
2.Captain Momodou Tumbul Tamba (a.k.a. Pol Pot)deceased; from Sintet;

Editor’s Note: We remain grateful to Kissy Kissy Mansa and the rest of the folks at State House for their tenacity in revealing Yahya Jammeh’s atrocities. Now that we have published the list from an insider within the corridors of power, we hope Yahya Jammeh will now take these charges very seriously and step forward to set the records. For those who have been implicated, only God knows what Yahya would do to you knowing the fates of Tumbul and Musa Jammeh, your former colleagues in crime.We are merely reporting allegations in the public interest and we have no doubt that Kissy and team will never give us incriminating charges out of malice.
