Gambian University Students Call Information Minister Habitual Trickster & Liar

Dear Editor:
I am a senior year student of the University of The Gambia and happen to be in the outgoing Student Union Executive Council. I am here to vent our anger in your wildly read Online Newspaper against SOS Neneh McDaul Gaye who is not but a dirty and retarded liar and self-centered person. You couldn’t believe the anger and blood thirst we the students of the University harbour against this woman who used us to publicly denounce Gamsu, which makes the President to build confidence in her thinking that she is so close to students, and can mobilize us to support the APRC any time needed. Neneh Mcdoul betrays the trust and confidence we have in her, used us and dumped us in the garbage thinking that we’re nothing but a bunch of fools. I will tell you what happened between this dirty politician and us; a woman that we will hate for the rest of our time at the University.
About eleven months ago, precisely at the time we inherited the offices of the Student Union Council that also coincided with President Jammeh’s alleged breakthrough in finding a cure for AIDS and other incurable diseases. Neneh McDaul with her new selfish attitude in trying to win the heart and trust of President Jammeh organized a match pass in support of the public’s support of the President’s supposed breakthrough. After realizing the importance of the University students at that gathering she immediately summoned a meeting between us. She opened the meeting with empty promises of attitudinal change towards students’ interests thus “you all know that I have been so close to students and how better I would like your needs to be solved. Unfortunately, I have been pretty busy with work and can’t have time for you but now I am ready to change all that.” She then went on with sweet, lovely words to gain our confidence and later proposed how significant our participation will be in regard to the success of the match pass. She committed us to make sure that 90% of the students at the University turn up for this match pass. “You will be happy” she lied. The Executive Council in return agreed to her request and also tendered a budget for our much hype up annual STUDENTS’ WEEK CELEBRATION; a special event that gets a fixed date in our calendar. We would normally stay together for a week at the Friendship Hostel to interact and feel campus life for the simple fact that the University of The Gambia has no campus. She promised us a 100% funding of proposal event at the hostel. She swore that she would give it to the President at the match pass ground and assured us that Jammeh would be more than happy to sponsor the whole programme. Our hopes rose highest because every incoming Executive Council’s success lies in its successful hosting of the STUDENTS’ WEEK CELEBARTION. We never knew the devil inside this woman and believe me she was calling us more than 5 times everyday before the programme to see how far we’ve gone in mobilizing more students for her. We honoured our side of the contract and got more than 1,200 students for the match pass-the biggest number for students of the University’s participation in any political event. At the match pass grounds she kept calling so that we could be at a strategic location to catch the President's attention. She even used our Social Secretary Miss Amie Mbye to deliver the vote of thanks at the end of the programme.
Since the programme ended, everyday we would call Neneh the liar for more than 5 times but she never answered her phone. We wrote a catalogue of letters seeking audience with her as the date of our STUDENTS’ WEEK approaches and to no avail. Surprisingly, she even has the audacity to tell her bodyguard to tell us to stop calling her; that she will get back to us as soon as she is free. We kept trying and the only day we got her was the day the President was formally inaugurating MISS BLACK USA at the Sheraton Hotel. We reminded her about her promise and we also told her to organize a programme for us with the beauty contestants since most of them are from overseas Colleges and Universities and are students like us. The only thing this evil SOS could offer was for us to go and stand on the roadside to wave at the President so she could continue to appear good in the AIDs doctor’s books. What a shame? She relegated us to the level of kindergartens. That was the last time we spoke to her and since the inception of the University, we are the only Executive Council that couldn’t organize Students’ Week because of Neneh Mcdoll’s lies, betrayals and selfish attitude. We’ve been getting tons of insults from the students we represent and they now blame us totally for trusting this dirty liar, cheat, self-centered woman!
We maybe dumb but we’re not blind and one thing Neneh fails to realize is that she uses nobody but her very self. We are way smarter than her and we will not rest till she is kicked out of this very office, which we helped her get. All of us feel like killing her any time we see her on TV or gathering. We call her nothing but a liar. She even failed too big to shake our hands when we met with her at GAMCEL” s 6 years anniversary and I only hope she knew the anger we had inside us that moment. She will certainly pay for this pretty soon. We will never rest till she is brought on her knees. She betrayed us, she lied to us and uses us and we are not really taking it lightly. Some students here are even suggesting that we march to her office and call her nothing but a liar and a dirty politician who uses students to get what she wants. We are coming after you Neneh and we are coming after you in the middle of the night. You shall soon hear from us the students at the University who you think you have used.
Sincerely,
For The Students, University of The Gambia.
