Breaking News: President Wade's Adviser Assassinated

President Wade’s Adviser Assassinated

Jammeh & senegal's Minister Farba Joof

On Thursday, the eve of the Muslim feast of Idal-adha (locally called Tobaski), Samsedin Hydara, a member of staff of Senegalese President Abdoulaye Wade was assassinated by a group of armed men who surrounded his compound at around 9 PM and shot him at close range.  Samsedin Hydara of the prominent Marabout family is from the border village of Mahmouda Cherif situated 10 Km from Douloulou and is a brother to Latif Hydara, another adviser in President Wade's office. Latif has recently been accused by some members of the MFDC rebels currently standing trial in the Kangaroo court in Banjul of providing them with monthly stipend to facilitate the conduct of their clandestine activities in The Gambia

The Senegalese government, through the Air Transport Minister, Farba Senghore, has all but named Banjul as responsible for the assassination of Samsedin Hydara.  Minister Senghore was quoted as saying that the Government of Senegal has absolved the MFDC of all responsibility in the assassination of Mr. Hydara which is being interpreted as meaning that Senegal should look for the culprits across the border in neighboring GambiaAll indications are that Yahya Jammeh should now watch his back and this time it is for real.

Dr Fox says...

Extreme justice is an extreme injury: for we ought not to approve of those terrible laws that make the smallest offences capital, nor of that opinion of the Stoics that makes all crimes equal; as if there were no difference to be made between the killing (of) a man and the taking (of) his purse, between which, if we examine things impartially, there is no likeness nor proportion .~ Sir Thomas More in Utopia, Bk 1. (1516)
