Gambian Woman Pays Tribute to Sgt. Alhagie Cham Joof (Sir Jackal)

A Tribute to Sgt. Alhagie Cham Joof- Sir Jackal

By Ma Darbo, Minnesota, USA

Sergeant Alhagie Cham Joof (a.k.a Sir Jackal)

Fist of all, I will like to thank you Mr. Sankareh and your staff at The Gambia Echo for the special interview you had with Alhagie Cham Joof (a.k.a Sir Jackal). No one can pay you guys for the good work you and your staff are doing for us Gambians living away from home by giving us the current affairs of our beloved nation currently under siege by the notorious Yaya Jammeh and his group of bandits. I want to thank Sir Jackal for the risk he and the boys took to liberate the nation from the thugs who hijacked it in broad daylight and turned one of the best countries in the world to hell for her people. Sir Jackal is a true patriot; a very brave man who I know even at this moment is preoccupied with liberating his people. I cried when I read Part One but Parts Two and Three are even more scary and emotional; and I have to tell you this man is such a true patriot. There is no word adequate to describe his bravery. He left his wife, mom and dad, his most beloved properties, his children behind to go risk his life just to save the motherland, that’s unbelievable. I want to say to you Sir Jackal I got very emotional for your ordeals all for the betterment of me, my family and The Gambia as a whole but remember one day you will be honored by The Gambia for the sacrifice you and your comrades took. I will like to also ask Sir Jackal one question and that is: do you know if Sana Bairo was part of the killings of our beloved brothers on Bloody November? I asked this question because Edward Singhateh the most evil person ever created in the history of our nation name comes mostly in those murders. Also Mr. Sankareh I read about the piece that you wrote about Tijan Ceesay (Eku Bopa) and The Gambian lady who was talking about you and your paper getting sued and she was also saying that you have done nothing for your country, well how about this online paper- The Gambia Echo that she was expressing her opinion on. Can she express her opinion on any local newspaper back home unless she kisses Yahya’s butt? Otherwise, the NIA will be at her doorsteps and take away to be tortured or probably disappear. Please do not worry about people like that because the day will come when such people will be ashamed if they have any. Again thanks for your continuous information for us here in the United States and those Gambians all around the world. I am currently here in USA originally from Gunjur village and I have to tell you we are all stuck for as long as this dictator rules our dearest motherland- The Gambia. Thank you The Gambia Echo, thank you Sir Jackal, and thank you Lt. Col. Sheriff Samsudeen Sarr, you are also my idol for I grew up seeing you at Gunjur when you were in charge of the Kartong Army Post, and thank you also for your wonderful book: Coup D’etat By The Gambia National Army.

Sincerely,

Ma Darbo, Minnesota.

Editor’s Note: Our profound appreciations for all the good stuff said about The Gambia Echo, its contributors and contributions towards general awareness among Gambians. Your enquiry about Tijan Ceesay’s friends and the threat of a lawsuit is difficult to answer as we anxiously await the legal bombshell that our diplomatic hand was advised to unleash against The Echo. We however, maintain our story that Tijan has been recalled. Curiously though, if The Gambia is abound with the mountains of honey and lakes of milk that Tijan and Yahya Jammeh claim, then how come he is not willing to return? If the Gambia had all the hospitals and developments that the regime boasts about how come on two occasions President Jammeh’s wife had to deliver in American hospitals at the expense of the Gambian people? Yahya Jammeh, retromingent a rascal as he may be, could not have forgotten that in the first weeks of the coup, he called a press conference complaining about one of President Jawara’s wives having a baby abroad and ex-Accountant General Abou Denton going for overseas treatment. If he has forgotten, I vividly remember the day he called the late Captain Sadibou Haidara and asked him to put his speakerphone on so I can hear him read evidence of Abou Denton’s expensive overseas treatment.

Your question to Sgt. Alhagie Cham Joof (Sir Jackal) as to whether Sana Bairo was part of the killings on bloody November has also been communicated to Sir Jackal. According to Jackal, “Yahya Jammeh, Sana Sabally, Yankuba Touray, Edward Singhateh and the late Sadibou Haidara are equally accountable.” “Lt. Barrow and most of those executed were first arrested and taken prisoner at Mile II. After a few hours, Jammeh called his colleagues and ordered that all those arrested should be executed and so they were transferred to Bakau Depot for the summary executions” reveals Jackal. He argues, “Sana Bairo was the Vice Chairman of the junta and could have prevailed on the Head of State to commute the sentence of murder but he did not.” Asked if Sana personally murdered some soldiers, Jackal says he has no direct evidence that Sana personally shot at any soldier but argues that as a Council member, he could have stopped the carnage because he was on the ground.” Asked if Singhateh had personally shot at any soldier, Jackal says he believes that the former Defense Minister is mentally sick because the Singhateh he knew before the coup is a mile apart from the sadistic executioner of post-coup Gambia. According to Sir Jackal, after the conclusion of this interview, he will contact you and reveal in detail, the personal story of one Ebrima B.N. Manneh from Sitanunku, Upper Nuimi a very close soldier to Singhateh, and how Edward Singhateh one day, ordered a team of soldiers to kill Manneh while asleep. Manneh is currently a refugee in Senegal after narrowly escaping death. We hope we have answered your concerns?
